When creating your own folders and records, you can set up restrictions for other network users. Use the "Edit security" function to open the "Security" window where you will setup users and determine their access rights. To add a user(group), press the "Add" button and a dialog will appear. Then select users or groups and press the "OK" button. After you have added users, you can set access rights for them. Three types of access rights are available:
Private | - this access right available only for users, no one can change or view this data, Security Admin can delete this data |
Owner | - allow all access rights |
Security | - allow edit security settings, can't delete and reduce rights for owners and can't add rights that exceeding own rights |
Create | - allow create new folders and records |
Delete | - allow delete records and folders |
Write | - allow editing all fields except name, name available for changes only for owners of record or folder |
Passwords | - permit viewing of passwords |
Read | - permit only the viewing of data except passwords |
Navigation | - allow navigation through the tree without access to view. |
Advice for administrators
We recommend that you to create a "Users" folder in the root directory. Then create subfolders for every user and set up their access rights. "Read" and "Write" inside the user's personal folder is recommended.
