Client performance issue (slow speed)

Solution 1: Try to disable the option "Hide innaccessible records and folders".

Solution 2: Try to open on your firewall: port 389 (sync AD) and 3268 (global catalog).

Solution 3: Add the host running the server to the hosts file on all workstations.

Solution 4: Disable Netbios via TCP/IP option on all client PCs.

Blank user names

Solution: Visit "Start" menu (Windows) -> Programs -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Active Directory Users and Computers" and set "User logon name (pre-Windows 2000)" = "User logon name" for each user.
